Kim Atlin is an established artist who was previously Toronto based but has now relocated to Owen Sound. She exhibits widely, and currently has work in galleries in Toronto, Edmonton, Saskatoon, and London. In this solo show she revisits a series entitled Forest Interiors which has been a recurring theme in her career. The exhibition title Homecoming reflects both her return to this body of work and her return to a rural setting after decades of city life.

Kim's large paintings in oil confront the viewer with the intricate patterns of light and line and colour which one is surrounded with in the forest interior. Kim writes of this work: “I am showing part of a picture or world which exists beyond the realm of the canvas in the mind of the viewer. This conversation between the viewer and the painting, between description and abstraction is the most vital element of my painting”.
We are a small, independent commercial art gallery with a particular focus on figurative art, and works on paper. In the summertime we also have an adjoining garden which can be used for special events.
